Infrastructure and energy projects typically demand high capital expenditures upfront while future revenues are uncertain and very difficult to predict.
Today, projects are becoming more complex, more interconnected and require knowledge in totally different domains. They are exposed to an increasing uncertainty landscape with new market risks like electricity and carbon prices, new taxes and regulations.
ProDecs enables better informed investment decisions in complex projects under uncertainty, being able to integrate in one the full uncertainty landscape and put the number on the flexibility that allows to change the course of the project in the future.

ProDecs is a NTNU innovation project based in Trondheim, Norway. ProDecs team has been a part of NTNU’s BRU21 Research and Innovation program in Automation Solutions for the Offshore Energy Industry.
BRU21 is uniting academic and industrial experts in Cybernetics and Robotics, Computer and Data Science, Cyber security, Petroleum engineering and Geoscience, Mechanical engineering, Sociology, Management and Economics.
As part of the Field Development and Economics research area of BRU21, ProDecs team has been working on development and valuation of investment strategies in energy projects under uncertainty.
Solution developed for the Industry with the Industry
We have been collaborating with the Norwegian offshore energy since 2018, validating our concept for decision making and investment valuation under uncertainty based on several case studies and developing our software product together with the industry.
Today, we have three official partners: OKEA, Norwegian Offshore Directorate and AkerBP.
